Sal Wood

Sal wood comes from Sal tree. Sal tree is straight and cylindrical and attains good length. Sal comes from Malaysia and other countries and is a little less expensive when compared to teak. It is one of the toughest timbers available today, Sal wood has a hard and coarse grain. It is naturally a light-coloured wood but it turns dark on constant exposure to sunlight.

Uses: Sal wood is used for interior door and window frame, wooden beam, batten, piles and tool handle etc. It is not suitable for shutters and furniture. It also serves as a medicine.
